Door Position Switch – for door access. Uses same SmartCable as reader. DPS is generally located above door and is triggered when the door is even slightly ajar. This is mandatory.

Request to Exit – for door access. Uses same SmartCable as reader. REX is in the panic device (bar or handle) to open the door when locked. (Mandatory) Motion sensors not allowed! |
DRS

Dogged Report Switch – switch triggered when the door is dogged open. Allen wrench dogging should be avoided in favor of a keyed dogging device. See provided detail if installed. (Optional)

Electronic Mortice Lock – contained within the door itself, the bolt is retracted via solenoid or motor to allow the door to be opened. (Mandatory)

Electronic Strike – contained in the doorframe, the strike opens when electrified. The University strongly prefers not to use electronic strikes especially in new construction. Use EML instead.

ARM

Area of Rescue Master Unit – the master Area of Rescue unit. Pull one (1) CAT 5E (grey) cable to box. One (1) cable must also be run from every Slave unit to this box.

ARS
|
|
|
Area of Rescue Slave Unit – pull one (1) CAT 5E (grey) cable from this box to the ARM (Area of Rescue Master Unit). No cables need be pulled from a Slave to the telecom closet.
