University Networks and Information Systems updgrades were COMPLETED on December 22nd, 2016 and January 3rd, 2017.

SUBJECT:  University Networks and Information Systems are Unavailable Due to Planned Upgrades


On Tuesday, December 22nd, 2016,The networking and Telecommunications department will be performing network infrastructure upgrades between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Network devices in all buildings will be upgraded at approximately 4:15 a.m. causing a ten-minute network and telephone outage. The equipment controlling Internet access will be replaced at 9:00 a.m. causing a two-hour outage. Please plan accordingly. Upgrades such as this one are necessary to ensure the long-term reliability and security of our networks. We strive to choose a schedule that minimizes disruption to the University community, we apologize for any inconvenience this upgrade causes. On Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 the Computer Services department will be performing information systems upgrades between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. During this upgrade, access to most software systems, including Banner, Oracle, My Missouri State, and Argos, will be unavailable. Please plan accordingly. Upgrades such as this one are necessary to ensure the long-term reliability and security of our systems. We strive to choose a schedule that minimizes disruption to the University community, we apologize for any inconvenience this upgrade causes. Massive upgrades are being scheduled this time, so access to the University�s wired and wireless networks, phone systems, the Internet, and information systems including, but not limited to, the My Missouri State portal, Blackboard Learn, Banner, email, and websites may be unavailable.  These upgrades are necessary to provide reliable and secure services to the University community and are planned for times when the disruption to the University community can be minimized.  Departments and users are encouraged to plan accordingly and not expect access to the University�s networking and telecommunications infrastructure and mission critical information systems during the upgrade period.  We apologize for any inconvenience these necessary upgrades may cause.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Networking and Telecommunications department at 836-5100.
