Dial-up Services have been Discontinued

Please be advised that on December 31, 2011, the Missouri State University dial-up modem services were discontinued on all campuses.  New high speed technologies, such as cable modems and DSL, have made these types of dial-up technologies obsolete.  Consequently, maintaining this equipment was no longer practical from financial and information security perspectives.

If you used the University’s dial-up service, please move to a commercial Internet service provider.  ISPcompared.com (http://www.ispcompared.com/) has comprehensive lists of service providers for both dial-up and broadband Internet access.  If it is available in your area, broadband Internet will provide a much richer experience and is strongly recommended.  To locate a broadband service provider you can visit http://www.broadbandmap.gov/, a government web site maintained by the NTIA and FCC.

Missouri has also received Federal grants to expand on broadband coverage in rural missouri.  Please check http://mobroadbandnow.com/ for information on these exciting projects.  Specifically, their mapping page is an excellent tool to locate broadband providers anywhere in Missouri.
